AMA Arenacross Series Rules

Governed by the 2010 Supercross Pro Rule Book

The AMA Arenacross Lites and AMA Arenacross Class is governed by the 2010 Supercross Pro Rule Book. The following supplemental rules apply:


SOUND REQUIREMENTS:
Per SAE J1287 standard
  • The maximum sound limit is set at:
  • Max. 99 dB/a for motorcycles with a 2-stroke engine
  • Max. 97 dB/a for motorcycles with a 4-stroke engine
  • 2 additional dB/a will be allowed in post race inspection.

EQUIPMENT:
A motorcycle may be entered by the same rider in multiple
classes.
Approved equipment for the AMA Arenacross Lites and AMA
Arenacross Class is in accordance with the AMA Regulations for
motorcycle homologationand must retain stock bore and stroke.

  • AX Lites Pro: 14 & up 125cc 2-stroke or 250cc 4-stroke
  • AX Class Pro: 14 & up 125 or 250cc 2-stroke
  • 250 or 450cc 4-stroke
  • 65cc: 7-11 yr 59cc-65cc 2-stroke
  • 85cc: 9 -15 yr 79cc-85cc 2-stroke

RACE NUMBER:
The top 20 riders from the previous year's points standings are
required to run the number that they earned unless a rider has
earned an AMA national lifetime number. All other numbers are
reserved on a first come first serve basis. Sign up for an
official registered 2010 Arenacross race number when you
purchase an annual series credential. For series credential

AMA Arenacross Class -
White with black numbers. Champions will race with a red plate
and white number.

AMA Arenacross Lites Class -
Black with white numbers. Champions will race with a red plate
and black number.

QUALIFYING:
For Arenacross qualifying consists of Timed Qualifying Practice,
Two Heat Races, One LCQ and One Final (Main Event). Race formats
with the set laps will be distributed at each event.

ELIGIBILITY:
To be eligible to compete in the AMA Arenacross Class or the AMA
Arenacross Lites Class, riders must be 14 years of age or older
on the date of the event, and hold an "A" rider classification
from a recognized AMA District or Sanctioned program. A pro
license is not required to race the Arenacross or Lites Class.
All participants in the AMA Arenacross and Lites Class must hold
a current AMA membership.

Riders who finished in the top 10 in points from the previous
years AMA Arenacross Class, Supercross, or Supercross Lites
class are not eligible to compete in the AMA Arenacross Lites
Class at the first event of the series. Beginning with round
1-night 2 of the 2010 series, the top 10 riders in points in the
AMA Arenacross Class, Supercross Class or Supercross Lites Class
are not eligible to compete in the AMA Arenacross Lites Class. A
rider is also not eligible to compete in the Lites class if the
rider has won an AMA Arenacross Class main event in the current
or previous season.

To obtain an AMA Professional Motocross license and Supercross
Lites endorsement through the AMA Arenacross Series, riders must
earn 35 points in the ARENACROSS CLASS or 60 points in the
ARENACROSS LITES CLASS. To obtain a Supercross Class endorsement
through the AMA Arenacross Series riders must earn 50 points in
the 2010 ARENACROSS CLASS. Riders cannot combine points between
the two classes in order to meet the point’s requirements.
Points do not carry over to the next years series.

DRUGS AND ALCOHOL POLICY:
All race personnel, officials, riders, mechanics and anyone
associated with riders and photographers must not consume or be
under the influence of intoxicants or drugs that could affect
their normal mental or physical ability. Besides affecting the
safety of the meet, any such use is inconsistent with the
concept of good sportsmanship and is harmful to the sport of
motorcycling. Anyone found to be in violation of these policies
is subject to disciplinary actions and can lead to forfeiture of
AMA license or event credential.
